CLINIQUES ST LUC

"DIS-MOI GLOBULE, C’EST QUOI CE BIDULE ?"

Leukemia is the most frequent form of child cancer. An estimated 90 or so new cases are diagnosed every year in Belgium. The Haematology and Paediatric Oncology Department of the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc was keen to offer teaching material for sick children, their families and those caring for them.

The result
Creating a CD-ROM proved the most effective situation for meeting everyone’s needs.

“Dis-moi Globule, c’est quoi ce bidule?” (Tell me Globule, what’s this ?) tells the story of Globule, a little blood cell surrounded by family members (grandparents, parents, brother and sister). The CD-ROM provides information on particular aspects of the disease, the treatment, and young patients’ lives with animated sequences, illustrated explanations and games.

Produced with the voices of Belgian personalities like Jacques Mercier, Jean-Luc Fonck, Natacha Régnier and Armelle Gysen, this tool, which is unique in Europe, meets a real need of children, their families and medical staff.
